Essay prompts for TCAS undergraduate admissions into ISNE program, academic year 2024

Please write an essay, in English, of no more than two pages (A4 size) on one of the following topics.

Be sure to indicate your chosen topic clearly on the essay.

1. Talk about an accomplishment you are most proud of, and talk about the biggest failure that has happened to you.  What did you learn from these moments?

2. Describe the community you come from.  Which technological aspects could be better in your community?  How do you plan to take the knowledge and skills you will receive from our ISNE program to improve your community?

3. If you are admitted into our ISNE program, what will you be able to contribute to our department, and how can our department help you improve yourself?

4. If you are not admitted into our ISNE program, be it this round or later on, what's your plan?

5. Which technological aspects related to computers do you think are the most advanced today?  How will you leverage such technology in your daily life?

6. Who in the tech industry is your role model?  How does this person impact you?

7. What are your dreams and expectations after graduating from our department?  How do you plan to fulfill your dreams and expectations?

8. Some applicants have a background, identity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful they believe their application would be incomplete without it.  If this sounds like you, then please share your story.

9. Reflect on a time when you questioned or challenged a belief or idea.  What prompted your thinking?  What was the outcome?  Did any change happen to yourself or your community?

10. Share an essay on any topic of your choice.  It can be one you've already written, one that responds to a different prompt, or one of your own design.
